The origins of the sash window, or a window that is opened and closed by moving its panels up and down or side to side, date back to at least the seventeenth century. They’re most common in British and New England style architecture dating to around the twentieth century, but there are surviving examples that go back much further than that.
It is thought that the original design came to Great Britain from either France or Holland. It was used more often in Great Britain as well as its colonies in the Americas. The window moves on strings or balances that made it easy to slide the wooden framed glass open or closed. By the late 17th century the style of window was increasingly popular in both Great Britain and the United States.
We most commonly think of a sash window as one that opens and closes by sliding the panes vertically, however a one that slides horizontally goes by the same name. It is suspected that the horizontal design came into use before the vertical one.
The earliest example of these windows can be traced back to their installation in the Ham House in England in the 1670s, but there have been older recorded histories. These include the Vermeer painting done in 1658 entitled “The Milkmaid” where they make an appearance, and also written accounts of the windows in England in as early as 1589.
The windows weren’t regularly used, however, until the late 17th century and by the 20th century they were the most commonly found window in both Great Britain and the States. At that point in time, however, they were not so stylish as they once had been. They were most popular during the Georgian period of architecture.
A window of two glass panels by three glass panels in each of two sashes is the most typically seen design. It’s not the only one, however; there are many variations of the model. One common way to refer to them in the United States is the “double hung sash” which refers to two mobile panels in the window both being able to slide to open and close the window. A single hung sash has one static sash and one mobile one. In some instances of very high windows, you’ll find triple or quadruple sashes.
While the origins of the sash window aren’t precisely known, the surviving early examples we have and the references to them in paintings and literary works have proven that they have been around for many centuries. A beautiful and neat design, their functionality has lasted a long time.

This article is about the cable TV providers in my area. Here In Colorado Springs, Colorado, there are only a few cable TV providers in my area. Such as Comcast, Time-Warner, Quest, Infinity, and other satellite providers.
I’m going the start off with Comcast. First of all have to say that they have the worst customer service ever, and wanted way too much for the channels they gave you, and in order to get good channels, well you had to pay them more money. Then when you go to their main store, they always act like they are the D.M.V. Then when you finally get up to the counter, you ask them a question, and they look at you like you have three eyes.
I tried the other cable TV providers in my area, but I couldn’t even get on the phone or thy always put me on hold for hour and hours. So I said screw that, I am going to find something better, because these Cable TV Providers in my area were not very good at all and they were to high priced for what they offered me.
So, I moved on and decided to go to satellite TV, The first one that I had chosen was DIRECTV, and they helped me out through the whole process. The only bad thing was that you were stuck on a two year contract, like a cell-phone plan. But I said let’s give it a try and I have loved it ever since, I now can watch my own sports teams as they happen, which I can’t wait for when football season starts again. They also had a lot of movie channels as well, but most of them must have been on a cycle since, they always played the same movies over and over again.
SO, that’s what I found out about the Cable TV providers in my area. Not all of them are great, and most of them come with the crappiest channels, a lot of the stuff that I really didn’t want, So that’s why I stuck with Satellite Television, because I believe that I got more for my money, and that is always a good thing. I mean who truly likes to watch golf on Sundays, anybody… I didn’t think so. That also why I can’t wait until the fall season to come and I can see new shows, because that is what I am really waiting for is the fall lineup.
I hope that you enjoyed my article about cable television. And I’m very sorry that I had to bash some of them, but a lot of them are horrible and they will never change because they know that you want to watch you’re dancing with the star, and your American idol. They don’t care about the quality that they give you, as long as you pay them, and that’s what all companies are about unfortunately. They don’t care about you, they care about the green and they always will.

His style, honesty and energy he devoted to the subject matter was refreshing and the presentation of the actual material was amazing. Not only easy to comprehend, but can use his strategy to make, and save a lot of money. I followed his method and made $180,000 on my first deal! It also covers all the pitfalls and dangers in not doing your homework before buying. It’s like a reference guide, whenever I need to look up a problem I just look in the index and I can find it right-a-way! This is a great book, a must have! Anyone thinking of buying pre-foreclosure property should invest in this book and read it cover to cover before doing anything. Honestly, I’ve never purchased a pre-foreclosure before, but this book will have you more scared than anything else of what could go wrong instead of what could go right. This one, however, is timely and substantive without being too wordy. The book is packed with reference material and you can even go to his website and download all the forms and letters presented in the book. Frankly, packaged with hype I have seen on TV and in seminars, the contents of this book could be sold for $999!
It is well worth your time to read it. Tom Lucier’s Pre-Foreclosure kit is packed with more useful information than I would have imagined possible for its size and cost. This book is the best book I’ve read bar none! Material you may not want to know but the real life honest to god truth.
Forget about the other RE books out there dealing with foreclosures, get this one, read it thoroughly and start making money. There’s an old saying; “those that can, do, and those that can’t teach”.
If you accept it’s going to take work and diligence, do yourself a favor and buy the book and learn the book. I ordered the book from Amazon and received it 2 days later.
I have only gone half way through this book and was very impressed. Not allot of simple explanations of what happens but real expectations and acknowledgement of roadblocks and issues.
It is most useful book I have ever read. This book is fully of lots of useful information. I didn’t want to put the book down because each time a question came up; it was the subject of the next section or chapter. Not only does Mr Lucier give step by step instructions he also tells it like it is. Real estate investing is NOT an investment, it is a business. Viewed in this light, serious real estate professionals need this business manual.
While pre-closures take time, effort and due diligence, Mr Lucier’s book guides you through what to do and what not to do step-by-step. Kids School Table And Chairs.
