The exhaust system of cars is responsible for the removal of gases which is produced by the engine. You have gases being produced by the car engine upon burning of the fuel. It is a deadly mix when humans and pets inhale them in large concentrated doses. Checking on your car’s exhaust system regularly is recommended for your safety. This page is a good reference material for checking your exhaust system.
First, make sure that there are no holes in the exhaust system. These fumes can be lethal for people inside the car for a long time if there are leaks in the exhaust system. You need to do a spot check on the main parts of the exhaust system to make sure everything is in working order. Make sure that there are no holes or leaks that will enable the fumes to get inside the car.
Next thing to check is the presence of rusts. Rust is inevitable for iron parts since oxidation will always happen due to oxygen in the atmosphere. Your hot exhaust area produces hot vapor that turns into water once it encounters cool air inside the exhaust system. Once your engine is turned off the water vapor then turns into liquid water inside the engine. Make sure to do regular checks to see if there is any rust at all on any part of your exhaust system.
Last, be sure that your exhaust system is not clogged. Clogging can raise the temperature on the pipes itself, which may lead to formation of holes. Also clogged pipes can leak out gases inside the passenger compartment, making it dangerous for you and your family. Check the pipes regularly to make sure that there are no clogs in them.
These are the things that you need to check for a well maintained exhaust system. Following this guide will not only ensure your safety, but it will lengthen the life of your car as well.

Check your car manual and see if your car can handle the use of synthetic oil as an alternative to the normal engine oils that we use. In our day and age we have cars that were manufactured to use only synthetic engine oil exclusively. This article will teach you a thing or two about synthetic oils. Read on and learn a thing or two about synthetic oils for cars.
Chemically modified petroleum components make up synthetic oil products and not crude oil. This is a lubricant substitute that offers a more superior chemical and mechanical properties. One of the best things that you get from synthetic oils are that they are so excellent at reducing friction in engines which is great for jets and and cars. The friction reducing capability of the synthetic oils today is attracting the car manufacturers to use this on a lot of the cars that they produce.
Synthetic oils are also great at performing in varying temperatures. This can be utilized in hot and cold countries. This product has a very high viscosity. Given the low evaporative quotient of synthetic oils it is sure that you will be using it for a long time. It is a fact that many car owners find that they can save a lot just by using synthetic oils for their engines.
Your engine will also be serving you longer since it is subjected to less friction. The fact that you will be doing less oil change will be a great help to the environment. The bad side though is that synthetic oils cost more than the normal engine oils. It is also not best to be used in old model cars because you will need friction to aid in the breaking-in stage of the car. Newer cars do not need this though since they come with a synthetic oil fill already.
You have just read the advantages and the disadvantages of synthetic oils. If you ask environmentalists, they will say they like synthetic oils better because you will be using less oil unlike if you use the normal engine oils. This fact means you throw away used oil only a few times less than normal engine oils. This translates to less environmental damage.
So when you want a great synthetic oil see us at Amsoil dealers. Amsoil is the product that produce superior performance for your vehicle at Amsoil synthetic oil San Diego.

It is interesting to note that most automatic car’s manuals say that you do not have to change the transmission fluid regularly. It is quite perplexing to know this fact since there are numerous car owners with automatic transmission cars rushing to the mechanic to have their burned out transmissions fixed. It is important that you change your transmission fluid and your filter every 30,000 miles to have a smooth running car. This article will help you to discover some things about your automatic car transmission.
Automatic transmissions generate so much heat caused by friction. These are the following: friction of the fluid churning inside the torque converter, friction created when the clutch plates engage, and the normal friction created by gears and bearings carrying their loads. The excessive production of heat caused by the friction is going to damage your car transmission. Overheating is actually one of the most common causes of car breakdowns.
Now, you also have to use the right kind of automatic transmission fluid. If you use the wrong type of fluid then you will damage the car transmission. The car’s dipstick or the car manual will be able to provide you with this information. The type that you need is both indicated there for your reference. It is inevitable that the car’s transmission will feel off when you shift gears if you use the wrong type of transmission.
Cars with automatic transmission will be a challenge when you want to change its transmission fluid. For one, you will have no drain plug. There is a pan though that you can remove to drain the fluid. Make use of a wide catch pan to get all the fluid that will be dribbling out in all directions. For automatic cars, a third of the fluid will be found in the torque converter. Since this cannot be drained this means you can only replace one third of the fluid. This is better though than not changing it.
Clean the pan well before you return it to its place. Make sure that you also position the new filter in its proper position. Do not overfill your transmission. This is why you have the dipstick. Rev up your engine or drive around the block to heat up the transmission fluid and then check the fluid level after. It is recommended that you check the fluid level when it is hot.
So when you have a car giving you problems be sure to see us at auto repair Lake Elsinore. We can also help if you have transmission problems with our Lake Elsinore transmission repair.

It is possible for your car’s paint to peel off and there may be some areas of your car which will have rust on it. Rusting is achieved when oxidation occurs on iron and any of its alloys. Since cars are quite expensive we want to know how to better care for them to serve us longer. Read on to know how you will be able to salvage those areas of your car which are subjected to rust.
First step is preparation. You need to use a sand paper made of 150-grit in order to remove the rust, the paint and primer around the affected area. Make sure that you sand the area so that the only thing remaining will be the metal. Make it a point to even out the edges of the area so that you are unable to feel any borders between the metal part and the unaffected areas surrounding it.
Second step is repair. For this step you need to fill in the gaps or small holes caused by the rust. You can buy an automotive filler and use it to cover up these holes. Let it dry and then once it is dry use a 120-grit sandpaper to smooth the area. What we want to achieve is to have the filler level with the normal car surface. After leveling it, you have to again subject it to sanding using a 120-grit sandpaper to be able to smooth it thoroughly.
Third step is to do painting and finishing. Use some tape to cover up the surrounding area which you will not be painting. Start with spraying three light coatings of primer on the affected area. Let dry each coating before spraying the next coat. After letting the primer dry, you can then spray the paint on using at least three to four coatings on the affected area. Make sure to let the paint dry. It is recommended that you let the area dry for one whole day to be sure that it is indeed dry already.
Afterwards, you can use a microfiber cloth as well as grease in order to make the affected area achieve a high sheen. You can then wash your car and also wax it as well to make it look brand new. These are the easy steps on how to fix your rusted car. Ensure that you act on the rust on your car quickly because it is easy for the rusted area to spread.
