I have had a special interest in the Sudan flag for a number of years. This horizontal banner is a tricolor, meaning that this flag is made up of 3 bands (also called stripes). This flag also displays a triangle on the left side of the national ensign, also called the hoist side. The Sudanese proudly hoist this ensign on Sudanese residential flag poles.
This country has an official designation, which is: the republic of the Sudan. This landlocked country is located in the eastern part of the continent of Africa, with countries such as Egypt and other bordering this beautiful territory. Back in the day, it came under rule of the British as well as the Egyptians, about one century ago, right around the turn of the century.
When the country first achieved independence, the Sudan flag first featured the colors blue, yellow and green. Sudan was granted independence on January 1, 1956. This flag was replaced a few years later, in 1970, following the 1969 revolution.
There is an interesting resemblance between the current flag of Sudan and the national Egyptian banner that is hoisted on modern-day Egyptian flag poles. The current Sudanese ensign hence is an obvious statement of the Egyptian influence that was more prominent in the past.
The actual origin of the name of the capital city of this nation is uncertain. Counting nearly 5 million people today, one tradition states that the name of the capital was derived from the Arabic word: “kartum,” which in English means: “end of an elephant’s trunk.” Some controversy remains and will remain about the capital’s name.
Fascinating meaning was given to the respective flag-colors. For those interested and familiar with national banners and flags, they can provide one with a wealth of information. A brand new health care bill was introduced on May 11, 2009 by Senator Michael Bennett of Colorado that was supposed to advance patient care and reduce the amount of money being spent on health care. It is called the Medicare Transitions Act of 2009. This bill is designed to manage patient care by enabling the Medicare patients to get immediate intervention and follow-up services that are effective once they get out of hospital.
It is meant to provide the public with a national list of transition care providers within their communities. It is for giving care to Medicare patients who still need medical help even after leaving hospital up to the point when they would be able to take care of themselves.
The personal follow-up care would be availed to elderly patients too to enable them manage their conditions away from hospital but the medication to be ministered to them effectively.
This bill will reduce the cost of medical care and reduce the number of people who return to hospitals for readmission. Very many old people normally get caught up in this as one out of every five discharged from hospital each month get to return for readmission.

A college math professor once explained to us why he thought time would eventually become more valuable than money. With all the great products and services available that provide help for the elderly, there is still no substitute for spending time rather than money.
Let us consider four ways to help seniors that involve more time than money. Because time does indeed seem to be more valuable than money, it is truly an extravagant gift, and truly from the heart. Through a sense of time as wealth, you can really consider yourself rich if you have enough to share.
Stop by at his or her house. Just to chat for a little while. This is especially appreciated if the elder lives alone or in an institution. This, as you might know, is harder than it sounds to do, but it is also one of the highest expressions of regard.
One of the little things that you can do for a senior is to check on them when the weather is nasty. Find out if they have enough supplies to last the storm and offer to help them get what they need. Check to see that the house is secure, and check for emergency candles, flashlights, etc. Arrange for snow removal or to fix drainage/plumbing issues. Promise to check in again and follow up.
Sit down and play cards or an old-fashioned board game. These games may have gone a bit out of style lately, but they are still around, and still quite fun. They will bring back pleasant memories in both of you.
Offer to do any small household repairs you see. If the senior is a man (or if they are a couple) he will want to help as much as he can and probably have quite a tool collection. A great way to bond if you don’t step on his ego too much.
Personal note: I think that professor was right. We are so busy with our lives that even those of us who do not make a great deal of money also seem to have less time. I think those who pay us for our time are getting a sweet deal. We can work very hard for our money, and the very logistics of the job and home and any surplus time themselves take up more time. On the other hand, our aged seem to have fountains of unused time and fewer people to spend it with.
