A Slow Computer And What May Be Done For It

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

It is true that as computers are used and get older they become loaded with more programs and data and they basically slow down. Especially at startup, there may be glitches with pop-ups, notices, and way too many things running. There are several things you can do to help and we’ll look at “unused and unneeded applications”.

There are all sorts of applications on most personal computer systems that won’t be used. Several of them were installed by the computer company that you did not want or even know they were there. And these useless software applications can affect your computer’s speed. When installing a new program, it’s possible that you will install additional applications that you didn’t want or need. Toolbars are frequently added to an installation and will be included on your computer unless you specifically choose the option not to use it.

You will not always know how a program got on your computer, but the bottom line is that they take up storage space and often needlessly run in the background. You may disable and remove these applications yourself. Let’s look at how.

Click on Applications, Programs and Features, or even Uninstall Programs listed under Control Panel. The Control Panel may be accessed by navigating to the Start menu. (depends on your operating system). In the uninstall list you will simply click the program you want to remove and click uninstall. It is that simple.

But a little caution here too. Watch out that you do not remove the wrong program or the incorrect part of a program. It can be confusing when a program is listed with a manufacturer name. You will be surprised about how simple it is to understand, however, with a quick Google search of the listed name.

Programs that have been included on your computer that are no longer being used, should be eliminated. For instance, most pcs that you may buy come bundled with an anti-virus. Most of the time, you will have a 30 day period to sign up and buy it. If you installed a different anti-virus, as many of us do, the original program is still there and needs to be uninstalled.

Slow Net Browsing? Try Out These Types Of Basic Error And Capacity Checks

Wednesday, June 1st, 2011

Searching for help when our laptop or computer is slow can be tough. Finding computer system issues or determining if it’s a slow Internet connection can be very difficult. Simply put, we will need to know if the real cause is our Broadband service provider speed or if our computer is slow and messing up. A frequent indicator is when the web pages we are searching download really slowly.

To help find the problem there are some easy things you may try yourself. A personal computer has a function known as the Task Manager. It is fast to get to by clicking right on the bottom toolbar of the desktop display and from the pop-up menu and additionally click on “Task Manager”.

Across the bottom of the Task Manager screen is a bar that reads: “Processes”, “CPU Usage” and “Physical Memory”. These are the selection of computer process presently active and running, the percentage being used of the CPU’s (or central processing unit) capacity and the amount of short-term memory storage (or RAM) utilized.

When a PC’s CPU Usage stays higher than 70 to 75 percent for very long it will slow down the computer’s speed on the Internet and also other functions. And also if the RAM or Physical Memory being used by the processor is over around 60 to 70 percent it can make it to appear like a slow Internet connection problem. This can be compared to a storage room at your house that is just too full and crowded and it takes much more time to find the things you are requiring.

Another common problem affecting our browsing and overall computer performance is Window’s Host errors. Have you have seen a pop-up pointing out that Windows Service Hosts has had a problem and was shut down? The Host Process for Windows Services is much better termed as the svchost exe (or SvcHost). There are various of these “hosts” also listed in Task Manager.

The use of Hosts is among the many methods Windows employs to accelerate our computer’s operation by blending “services” together that are used together. The organization of functions is crucial to help our own computer operate quicker and help slow Internet connection issues.

These types of hosting errors are caused by issues that can be the result of a virus which has infected your personal computer. Some Trojan viruses and some worms make use of a svchost as their hiding location and can be hard to locate and remove. If you find this error box popping up on your PC very often you need to run a complete system or “boot” virus scan.

Do not throw away any more time and money. Look at the Slow Internet Connection info blog site. That blog site again is: slow Internet at www.slowinternetconnection.net.

Slow Computer: More Registry Software

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Looking in the Startup Manager will many times show a large number of problems that slow a computer down. At start-up there are probably several that are running simultaneously on your computer that are unnecessary. Your computer would start and run better without them.

The manufacturer pre-installs some programs to the computer even before you purchased it. Your computer’s original programming was loaded and set up before you purchased it. It is not always the best thing to just delete a running program because it can mess up other applications or make more problems. If you want to stop these programs without hurting any other parts of your computer, a registry cleaning software can help you do that.

An additional aspect of the “best registry fix” is a backup system. Any good cleaner program will be able to create a registry backup and as well as a new restore point. Most registry cleaners are good, however, there is a slight risk of losing valuable data that has been stored on your computer.

Eliminating registry errors is of course a very important function of any repair program. These errors are displayed in various forms. There are three common problems: missing and invalid entries and missing links.

Eliminating or fixing errors like these will get rid of the clutter and make the computer operate better and quicker. Many times a computer will have so many problems and issues that it slows its performance dramatically.

It is also very important for registry cleaners to have strong product support. You should be able to contact the company for advice on problems you may encounter or help with any of the features. There is nothing more frustrating than needing to ask a simple question and feeling like you have been left out on your own.

Is your computer not running right? Do this simple next step and don’t waste any more of your time. Check out the Best Registry Fix Online info web site. There is a lot of useful information on – best registry fix online – at this help site.

Rebooting A Computer Can Often Help Correct Slow PC Operations

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

A computer can many times be helped by simply cutting it off and restarting it. Lots of times I have told people to shut their pc down, give it a minute or so and then start it back up. And if it’s still doing whatever it was doing, call me back. Probably 75% of the time I won’t get called back.

When your pc is turned off and then started up again it’s like giving it a fresh start. It opens the programs without any of the previous files opening that might have been causing the computer’s condition. It only opens the actual program files until the computer operator accesses other created files such as documents.

You can sometimes do this with a program also. I have had to close down and reboot an accounting program several times. There can be so much data and at times several work stations constantly sending information into a server and it just has to have a clean start.

What is really going on is the RAM or random access memory is all clogged up. As well as the virtual memory is scattered out. Then you’ve got the registry entries as more programs and data are brought into the computing. When you restart the computer you clear out the RAM and virtual storage memory. You could say they start over.

We don’t usually find this type problem with notebooks. You shut it down regularly to take it home or back to the office. But a regular desktop pc is another story. I’ve known of people that never shut down their desktop except when an update or something needs a restart. But usually this will lead to problems as a computer gets older.

At times computer shut downs are much slower than they ought to be. This could possibly be a signal of troubles ahead or perhaps just something to watch. If you continue having these problems after doing a restart the next simplest check is with a registry repair software free scanning. A scan will give you a reliable idea of what computer problems you have before you have to purchase anything.

Do this quick next step and do not waste any more of your time. Look at the Fix Slow Computer blog site. That information site is at: “slow computer fix“.

All Anti-Virus Programs Are Not Equal In Quality

Monday, April 11th, 2011

Viruses cause a great deal of problems with our computers. And unfortunately all anti-virus programs aren’t created equal in their capabilities. Add to this the problems we have with mal-ware and spy-ware and the money spent is tremendous, plus the extra hours of time wasted.

These anti-virus applications vary from good quality to very low quality. Many of the best known software programs are not effective in eliminating even the most common viruses we encounter.

While I’m not going to mention to you the names of these companies I would encourage you to talk to other technicians that work on pc’s about their opinions… you will probably be surprised with what they tell you. One time, after working for hours on computer problems involving a static IP, we found that the virus protection program was actually causing the problem. The internet company’s tech guy working with me, told me that they had seen a tremendous amount of problems with this “best” known virus software… and they don’t use it or promote its use.

I’ve talked to a few first-rate computer techs about which programs are good and what they recommend and have gotten some good advice as well as heard a few bad stories about these well known companies. And I’ve seen this personally in more than one computer that I’ve worked on and had to replace the existing anti-virus to repair all of its problems.

I will tell you that I’ve had good luck working with Avast and AVG programs as well as a couple of others that have done real good for me. The point I like best about Avast is the “boot scan”. What that does is run a scan of your computer before Windows comes on.. in DOS. That way it can search the files in their raw state. It seems to find viruses that the others won’t.

Viruses are the leading problem in slow computer performance but registry problems are a near second. Our experience with some registry cleaning software has been excellent as well. Reading other testimonials should be a good way to help you decide if this is the way for you to go.

Try this quick next step and don’t throw away any more of your time or money. Check out the Top Registry Cleaner blog site. That help site is at: “computer help“.

Does Your Computer Have Programs Running In The Back Ground And Slowing It Down?

Thursday, April 7th, 2011

If you’ve discovered that your computer is not operating as fast as it is supposed to you might find it interesting to investigate what applications are running in the background of your PC. You don’t have to be a geek or service technician to do this simple test. And it might lead you to some repairs for the problems you are experiencing.

First go to the Task Manager by right clicking on the bottom tool tray in a spot where there are no tabs or program icons. Choose Task Manager and a box will open that has tabs across the top. Go to Processes and look the list of items. Click on the button near the bottom that says Show All Users. You are now looking at what is running on your pc right now.

Just about all of the processes you see are used to operate the computer, some by Microsoft, and others you will recognize such as your anti-virus, web browser, print driver, etc. But also there are other ones that you have no idea about and that is OK, you shouldn’t know all of them.

Now look at one that you are sure is okay, such as a Microsoft process, and right click on it a box will open and toward the bottom will be “Properties”. When you click on Properties you will get another box with tabs across the top of it. Look in the Details or Digital Signature tab and find out who the manufacturer is or who has the copyright.

You will be familiar with most of the names such as HP, Intel, Microsoft, etc. and you are sure these processes are legitimate. When you right click on a process, go to Properties and you get a message saying it’s not available or if nothing opens up at all, then you have a process that could be a problem. It may be something placed on your computer that needs to be removed.

But you should not delete it in the task manager though. There is a much safer method. I would then run a search for the location of the .exe name and access the process’s actual file. Then when you right click on it you ought to be given the option of having your anti-virus scan it. The virus program can then quarantine it if it contains a virus.

Do not throw away any more time. Look at the Computer Slow info web site. The information site address again is why is my computer slow info at www.whyismycomputersoslowfix.com.

Goal Setting, Balance And Your Home Based Business Results.

Friday, September 17th, 2010

This thought today is short and simple BUT powerful!

I hear all the time people say, “I don’t have time” or “You don’t understand, I have kids” or “Fill in the blank”.

Hey, I’m not here to tell you what to do and chances I’m preaching to the choir if you’re already in a home based biz. However, you may or may not be applying your time effectively.

Are you really getting the results you desire?

Figure out a time commitment that works for you and your family. As an example, commit to just one hour per day to building the business, while working a full time job. If you’re full time at home, then work it!

While the time might sound small one hour a day) it works and becomes a daily goal, helps you focus and become effective in the time allotted.

Goal setting can get out of hand if you’re goals aren’t realistic.

Be a super dreamer and go for it….but baby steps, baby steps. What I mean is set a few goals that you can achieve in the next 30 days or less. Build that mindset muscle and see self esteem grow and eventually go through the roof.

Next, decide on some 60 day and 90 days goals each time building towards more success and satisfaction. Hey, being a Double Whammy Bammy Blue Diamond is great but how about making your first sale or your first $1,000 or $2,000 month and go from there? Does that make sense?

The major thing is keep it simple and focused on your highest payoff activities. An example, would be to make sure you speak to (yes, I said speak to) 3 people a day about your business opportunity. Another example, would be to have one piece of marketing implemented and done weekly. Still yet, commit to a certain amount of follow up (specific number and goal) in order to collect a decision from a prospect, etc.

The major problem is to lose focus and use your time to straighten up your desk or listening to all the company training calls, etc. Just make sure 80% of your time spent on working your business is results-driven activity.

As you get better at running your business it gets easier to figure out ways to achieve goals in a realistic time frame. I’m here if you need my assistence.

Fact Or Fiction For This Multilevel Marketing Company With Tony Rush And Avant.

Monday, September 13th, 2010

I came across some “buzz” on this company and Tony Rush, one of the people involved with Avant. This new company has a “different” feel to it that will either appeal to you or not.

As for Tony Rush, the same can be said. He is a top leader at Avant and has had much prior success in earning income. However, has he been able to duplicate this success for others on his team?

That’s always a sensitive issue as people tend to gravitate to the GURU leader and often times this is a huge mistake (not a reflection on Rush or Avant). I would say this applies to any company and you’re better off to find a mid-level leader that is experienced and committed but not the actual guru so that you can actually get coaching, team building and first hand training, etc.

At first glance, it really doesn’t seem like a network marketing company as the corporate site http://WeAreAvant.com was very professional and focused on personal development.

If you like Tony Robbins and The Secret then you will most likely connect with this company and their products.

The company launched on May 31, 2010 under the direction of Brent Payne, CEO and founder of the company. He and the prior company enjoyed massive success also in personal development and had a great 8 year run before he sold his interest in the company. After some time off and he has formed Avant.

The business model is direct sales meets network marketing and has 3 basic products including Elevate a 72 day home study course with a DVD, CD’s, a journal, workbook and online features to include coaching, social media and accountability grid.

The course comes with a 72 day money back guarantee which I thought was saying a lot about their product.

The compensation plan is a good mix between what is large upfront income and passive income. The commissions are large enough at the lower level; that people can realistically earn thousands of dollars their first 30-days without being some recruiting superstar.

The plan pays on four levels and there is no auto-ship. This alone is an interesting component when you compare it to say a nutritional MLM that requires you to purchase $250 worth a product a month. In one year that’s $3,000 spent on vitamins or juice and imagine how much that adds up to in just 5 years.

This model will attract more professionals who would normally not give a hoot about MLM and that is key and huge if you think of a wider market that can appeal to more people. I say this because personal development is appealing to a broad audience and the business is not built in the traditional sense with home parties, etc.

The Avant model seems lucrative with a team of 50-100 or 200 people and not the thousands and thousands of people required in the traditional MLM or network to make a substantial income.

Al Rodriguez is a long time entrepreneur having spent 20 years as the owner of a multiple mortgage offices, a real estate franchise and real estate investor. Comparing Top Tier To Direct Sales And A Traditional Traditional Multilevel Marketing.

Monday, September 13th, 2010

I get asked all the time. “Al Rod, what do you think about this MLM opportunity?”

This is ONLY one example of a traditional MLM. Let’s say it’s one of the “hot” new binary hybrid compensation plans that “say” they pay 50-55% commission. Very Wrong!

There’s breakage meaning that for every $100 worth of water or juice you buy; you will be credited with a lower percentage of commission-able volume and that can range from 50% to about 77% of the actual dollar spent. That’s huge and right away decreases what you think you would earn. Then there is breakage on rank advancement which means that if you don’t qualify for a certain bonus or rank even though you may have the dollar volume; the company keeps this portion of the money and therefore reduces the actual payout.

Okay auto-ship. Let’s say that you spend $250 per month because you are at a certain rank level that requires 4 boxes or 4 cases of this or that. Well, that’s $3,000 a year in product or $15,000 a year in the next 5 years of business and more over a 10-20 year career. This isn’t good or bad; just the facts.

Yes and we said this is a binary. I realize you will get the whammy bammy bonus, maybe the car bonus or the impossible to calculate 2% global bonus but the binary pays on the lesser leg. Binary means you build two team or two legs; a right and a left one AND if one runs away you could effectively have 1,000 people on one leg and 200 on the other. Yes, you guessed it; you get paid on the lesser or smaller leg to the tune of about 10% or so. 200 people on the lesser leg consuming 100 points of product per month is, $20,000 in volume or about $2,000 a month.

Top Tier has their pros and cons…It is more expensive upfront to join most of these business models to the tune of $1500 to $2000 but there is no auto-ship with most of these companies (check for specifics) and that should be considered. The next thing to consider is the upfront payout. In a traditional MLM, you get someone to join for say $499 and you make anywhere from $90 to about $140.

In a top tier, a $1500 or so sale earns you about $1,000. It takes no more effort to bring someone in at a higher level than at a $499 and $250 level and yet the upfront money is huge. Four sales monthly or one a week in a top tier can earn you $4,000 per month not counting the passive or residual income. In a traditional MLM if you sponsored one a week you may earn about $400 month (huge difference).

This $400 a month helps pay your auto-ship of $250 and the company replicated site, shipping and maybe you have $100 at best left for you; think about this.

In conclusion, Top Tier tens to attract a more motivated entrepreneur and pulls lots of people that are not in MLM or network marketing as the higher income and professionalism of some of these companies s very appealing. The marketing strategies also typically make more sense than the MLM home parties and chase your family and friends scenarios.

Al Rodriguez is a long time entrepreneur having spent 20 years as the owner of a multiple mortgage offices, a real estate franchise and real estate investor. A few years ago he turned this knowledge and began a coaching company for these industries and today has transitioned into helping others accelerate their success in a home based business with a “can-do” style and real world marketing strategies.

Avant Multilevel Marketing Business Review. The Truth About This Compensation Model.

Saturday, September 11th, 2010

This new company has a “different” feel to it that will either appeal to you or not. I don’t know I this company is right for you or not but here are some things to consider: At first glance, it really doesn’t seem like a network marketing company as the corporate site http://WeAreAvant.com was very professional and focused on personal development.

If you like Tony Robbins, The Secret, Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, The Law of Attraction and related information then you will resonate with the company as this is their arena of doing business as opposed to vitamins or juices.

This company launched on May 31, 2010 under the direction of Brent Payne, CEO and founder of the company. A couple of years prior he was the co-owner of another personal development direct sales company that enjoyed massive success for an 8 year run. He sold his interest in the company, took some time off and no formed Avant.

The business model is direct sales meets network marketing and has 3 basic products including Elevate a 72 day home study course with a DVD, CD’s, a journal, workbook and online features to include coaching, social media and accountability grid.

The course comes with an unheard of 72 day money back guarantee which I thought was saying a lot about their product. It seems they really have faith in their product.

The Avant compensation plan is a good mix between what is large upfront income and still has passive income. It offers great upfront money while still has the residual or passive component of an MLM; which I found interesting once I reviewed the actual details. As an example, a $4,000 monthly income is realized by just making one sale per week and that isn’t counting other bonuses or residual income.

The plan pays on four levels and it is basically a uni-level but there is no auto-ship and even though the cost of entry is higher it really is a more affordable business due to the lack of a $150-$250 auto-ship as in a traditional MLM.

This Avant compensation model will attract more professionals who would normally not give a hoot about MLM or ever want to promote a lotion, potion or pill as the next awesome solution to mankind. I say this because personal development is appealing to a broad audience and the business is not built in the traditional sense with home parties, etc.

The compensation is pretty straight forward and people can understand it as well as “pick” the level of their involvement. This model does not require thousands and thousands of people like in the traditional MLM or network marketing companies in order to get into a realistic six-figure or multiple six-figure annual income.

Al Rodriguez is a long time entrepreneur having spent 20 years as the owner of a multiple mortgage offices, a real estate franchise and real estate investor.
