Life Saving Pool Alarm

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

I have a six year old daughter that loves to swim in our backyard swimming pool. We worry about safety since our dog had fallen into the pool and drowned a coupe summers ago.

After that incident, I bought a Pool Alarm from the home alarm shop. It has an electronic monitoring system which automatically makes a loud noise when kids or even pets plunge into my unguarded pool.

It is very easy to set up and use. Now we know if our daughter decides to get into the pool with out our knowledge by setting off an alarm inside our house.

Once this alarm is armed it cannot be turned off, but it can be put into sleep mode. With a setting like this you will be constantly ready for it to alarm if something ever falls into the pool and is in danger. This pool alarm was delivered to my house and came with simple instructions how to set it up. I was able to do it all by myself.

Two days after we got our pool alarm from the home alarm shop, we invited some neighbors over for lunch. One of our neighbors brought her 5 year old daughter with her.

One of the neighbors brought up that the five year old couldn’t swim. I knew how important this was so I went and turned the pool alarm from sleep mode to active in case there was any kind of emergency. This way we would be ready. We then went outside to watch the children play.

Less than five minutes later, the pool alarm made a deafening noise. I was thinking at first that it was just malfunctioning, however, when I checked outside I found my daughter struggling in the deeper part of our pool.

I absolutely know that the device I got from the home alarm shop saved my daughter’s life and also that my pets are safe now that we have it too. Once the alarm sounded I was able to reach her before she could even breathe water into her small lungs.

A Safe Child At Play

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

What makes the ?great outdoors? so great? The fresh air is great. The plants and animals are great. The sense of freedom is great.

Great outdoors can be enjoyed by the children with the several safety measures such as children at play signs.

Dangers to children at play outdoors can exist right outside a home?s front or back door. On porches, balconies and decks, railings should be close enough to prevent children from getting their head caught, or from them sliding through.

The falling should be prevented by blocking the exits and stairs. Fencing should be done and play regions should be limited.

We can further protect children from adult drivers by children at play signs. Moreover, children shouldn?t be allowed in streets and ride toys only in sidewalks or other safe areas.

In addition to areas directly around the house, child safety should also be maintained in other locations. Inspect your child?s playground equipment, to ensure that repairs are not required. Furthermore, place woodchips, mulch, or sand underneath swing sets.

The children shouldn?t be left unattended near the pool. Keep the toys, tables and chairs far from the water.

Permanent pools must be fenced and the automatic lock gates can be installed to protect child. Plants, weeds or other plant related material may create hazards for kids.

We should take precautions about these too, along with safety about man made objects and locations.

Therefore, one must be aware of the common varieties of plants which are poisonous and grow in your location. If the child ingests the plant which is poisonous, one must contact the poison control center. The remaining bits of the plant should be removed from kid?s mouth.

Next, keep pesticides and fertilizers stored in safe locations, and keep children away when these products are being used. Furthermore, keep lawnmowers and other garden and lawn equipment locked away in a shed. Finally, keep children at play at a distance when using these tools.

Children too can enjoy the great outdoors like adults by taking all safety precautions so that outside area as well as home remains safe and beneficial for them.
